Velkommen alle sammen.
This page will give you the latest news about my stay in Denmark no matter where in the world you are (modern technology is amazing...) Hopefully my thesis will allow me some time to create a few posts every now and again.
Lots of posting to come.... New posts will be listed on the bottom of the page.
This is the view from my home office on a beautiful December morning.

Ship ohoy

The girls in the family onboard the good ship Ansoba.

Merry Christmas

The Christmas tree with real candle lights and lots of presents.

Playing games while waiting for the big Christmas dinner to begin. In Denmark we celebrate Christmas on the evening of the 24th of December. This is how the night normally onfolds itself:

-watching the same Christmas shows on TV as last year, and the year before, for as long as I remember
-eating dinner for hours (usually roasted duck stuffed with prunes and apples served with caramelised potatoes, warm red cabbage and boiled apples and for desert ris a la mande (rise desert with lots of almonds and vanilla)
-walking around the Christmas tree holding hands and singing songs
-finally present and lots of special marzipan Christmas sweets and lots of coffee

Happy New Year

The settings... Welcome on board Ansoba. The water level was very high and we had to put on gum boots to get to the front door.

Lots of nice food...

Mmmmmm, Sophie made a delicious New Years cake made of mainly marzipan. The cake is enjoyed with Champagne at 2 seconds past midnight while listening to the national song broadcasted live on TV.

More New Year

Fire works. Truly beautiful. People in Vedbæk spend alot of money on fire work and it shows on the dark Decmeber sky at midnight.

I wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and all the best for 2007.
